draulically operated boom to make the setup
for any pulling job quick and easy, it is rapidly
becoming many contractors’ underground
puller of choice.
These pullers are high-quality products
representing the latest modern technical
standards in the field of underground cable
pullers. They are built in accordance with
the latest industry standards and meet all
governmental regulations. Features include
hydrostatic drive, double capstan system,
diesel engine, large drum capacity for long
cable lengths, and a pulling force that is con-
trolled by an electronic measuring system
that can be adjusted to any force between 0
and 11,000 pounds.
Global Machinery is the U.S. distributor
for Jakob Thaler and stocks these pullers at
several locations throughout the country.
Global Machinery rents, sells, and services
utility construction and tree care equipment
to contractors, public utilities, government
agencies, and municipalities. The company
has everything from directional drills and
vacuum excavators to bucket trucks and
stringing equipment to fiber optic cable
blowers and cable reel trailers. Global Ma-
chinery has rented equipment from Florida
to Alaska and everywhere in between.
The Thaler underground puller is available
at six locations throughout the United States.

Elliott Equipment Company
Elliott Equipment Company’s newest and
tallest aerial work platform was unveiled at
ICUEE 2013 in Louisville, Ky. The new model,
the E160/215, is an ANSI A92.2 compliant
aerial work platform that features 215 feet
of working height, 80 feet of side reach, up
to 1,200 pounds of platform capacity, and
30,000 pounds of material handling capacity,
mounted on a federal bridge legal 5-axle
chassis. The E160/215 is designed for on and
off-road applications thanks to Elliott’s two-
stage “EZ-Crib” outriggers that offer extreme
ground penetration for faster setup and tear-
down times. Elliott Equipment’s E160/215
was designed from the ground up to solve
transmission construction application chal-
lenges by reducing setup times, eliminat-
ing OSHA test pick requirements, reducing
equipment expenditures, and optimizing
jobsite performance.
The E160/215 aerial work platform features
Elliott’s new gravity-leveled work platform
that measures 36x72 inches and features a
hydraulic lifting system that makes it possible
for one worker to easily connect the platform
yoke to the jib or boom tip. The basket
features an OSHA-compliant double hand
rail with grounding lugs and a hydraulic tool
circuit for hand tools in the basket. The lower
control console features Elliott’s Ride-Around
control console with an adjustable premium
seat and full-pressure hydraulic controls
mounted on a 360-degree continuous rota-
tion turret for straight ahead visibility at all
boom positions.
The E160/215 includes a proportional
wireless remote control system with an
integrated LMI display for full visibility of
operating conditions from within the work
platform. Elliott Equipment also offers a hard-
wired connection for the remote controls to
ensure interference-free communication on
busy jobsites.
Jameson
Jameson has developed an Aerial Sheave for
fiber optic cable installations. Designed to
hold pull tape and cable in roller for continu-
ous pulls with multiple turns, Jameson’s
Sheave installs more cable in less time.
The lightweight, impact-resistant unit is
easy to handle, self-levels, and does not re-
quire strapping. It features easy-open latches
and guards for one-handed insertion and
removal of cables for faster load and unload.
The sheave maintains minimum bend radius
to avoid damage to the cable.
Jameson offers an 8-inch model for
straight pulls and an 18-inch model for set
up, take-down, and turns.
American Polywater Corporation
American Polywater Corporation’s Splice
Shield sealant leaves a thick flexible coat-
ing that creates an environmental barrier
against oil, water, and corrosion. It contains
no dangerous low-TLVs or highly flammable
solvents and has a high dielectric strength.
The kit contains all the materials needed to
seal multiple underground splices or repair
cable jackets that were nicked or cut due to
shovel damage.
Polywater Splice Shield sealant is pack-
aged in an easy-to-use self-dispensing car-
tridge. Only one application is needed for a
thick protective coating over “taped” splices.
The sealant dries quickly and does not need
to be “tack free” before direct burial.
American Polywater also offers Polywater
