projects both large and small. As a result,
AWG makes it easier and less expensive as a
complete solution for all cable needs.
Let AWG be your “powerful solution.”
Vermeer
The original Vermeer D24x40 horizontal
directional drill—known as the “big work-
horse”—set the standard in the ‘90s and was
among the first commercially successful
HDDs introduced. It was a time when HDD
became a viable alternative to traditional
open-cut installations.
Along the way, the D24x40 evolved with
new industry-first features that offered en-
hanced productivity to contractors, ranging
from becoming the first self-contained drill
in its class to automatic rod loading to the
introduction of rack-and-pinion systems in
drills.
The D24x40 has never sat still and over
the past 20 years has become the industry
standard and an essential crew member for
HDD contractors around the world meeting
their right-size, right-power needs. There are
still Vermeer D24x40 drills built in the ‘90s
working on projects today, a testament to
reliability and being a contractor favorite.
Today, the D24x40 Series II Navigator
continues to deliver with reliability, rugged
versatility, and raw power to help contractors
get jobs done on time and within budget in
a full range of conditions. Delivering 4,000
foot-pounds of torque and 24,000 pounds of
thrust/pullback, it has the muscle operators
need to get the job done.
Operator comfort and control have been
a tradition with the D24x40 as dual elec-
tronic joysticks on the Series II are integrated
into the ergonomically designed operator’s
station and provide precise control of key
drilling operations. The D24x40 Series II, like
all Vermeer drills, is backed by outstanding
support from an industry-leading dealer
network.

Pengo
The Pengo Utility Series Rock Ripper auger
simply must be considered for all hard rock
drilling jobs.
All aspects of the utility series
Rock Ripper have been improved
with a new progressive-style
design. Considerable attention has
been paid to improving drilling
rates and reducing vibration. The
distinct attack angles allow the
auger to “bite” into the rock thus
reducing vibration while increasing drilling
production.
The Rock Ripper auger for utility features
the STRATA series SR-76SW carbide drilling
teeth. These teeth allow the Rock Ripper to
cut through rock, not grind it. The life cycle
of the Strata teeth outlasts standard rock
teeth meaning reduced downtime and
increased productivity.
