Getting There
The Cyril E. King International Airport (STT), on the
southwestern side of St. Thomas, is just 6 miles from
the resort. Several major carriers fly into the airport,
including American, Delta, United, and US Airways.
The resort does not offer shuttle service. Taxis will be
available for $10 one way per person. A party of two or
more is $8 per person. Luggage-handling fees will also
apply. Specify to taxi or shuttle service if your reservation
is at Frenchman’s Reef or Morning Star Beach Club, as
they have separate resort and check-in locations.
Driving Directions
The resort is 6 miles southeast of the airport. From
Airport Road. Turn right onto Route 30 East. Continue
past downtown Charlotte Amalie Area. Leave Route
30 at Route 315 Junction. Take Route 315 directly to
the Frenchman’s Reef. Complimentary self-parking is
available on-site.
Passports
No passport is required for St. Thomas or for any of
the destinations on the PCCA optional tours. However,
anyone wishing to visit any of the nearby British Virgin
Islands (Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke, and
Anegada are the largest) during their stay will need a
passport. Even if you don’t plan beforehand to visit
the BVIs, you might want to bring your passport just
in case—the islands are very close, very beautiful, and
many PCCA members will be taking advantage of the
short ferry rides.
Weather
Expect lots of sunshine. The average high temperature
in St. Thomas during March is 86 F, and the average low
is 73 F. The island averages just 1.42 inches of rain in
March.
What to Wear
PCCA meetings are resort casual, meaning that shorts,
golf shirts, sandals, and sneakers are acceptable, but you
certainly wouldn’t look out of place in slacks and a dress
shirt. Some people (but not all) get a little dressier for the
Prayer Breakfast; some men wear sport coats.
