McLaughlin
The Vermeer Hole Hammer pneumatic pierc-
ing tool line by McLaughlin is a powerful and
economical solution that can operate in a
full range of soil conditions and applications,
plus innovative features provide exceptional
control and easy start-up. Hole Hammer
piercing tools put the power of a proven,
simple, and reliable design in the hands of
contractors and can handle a variety of proj-
ects including gas, electric, fiber, telecom,
water, and irrigation installations.
The Hole Hammer piercing tools consist
of two lines: the positive turn reverse and
the air-on quarter turn reverse. The first has
a positive turn reverse design with minimal
moving parts, delivering superior reliability
and lower cost of ownership and is available
in 2-, 2.5-, 3- and 4-inch diameter options.
It features a replaceable head design that
is made of heat-treated alloy to protect the
tool body and can be replaced to extend
the tool body life. The tailbolt system
allows for only 35 foot-pounds of
torque, and basic hand tools
allow access to the inside of
the tool for fast and easy
service
The air-on quarter
turn reverse Hole
Hammer series is one powerful tool with two
head options: moving head assembly and a
replaceable head. Owners can invest in one
Hole Hammer and use it in a range of soil
conditions and not have to purchase another
complete tool assembly, saving on fleet
budgets. The spring reset design of the mov-
ing head assembly ensures the moving head
is reset every time, and the full power of the
striker is delivered to ground in front of the
Hole Hammer. A ribbed tool body provides
additional tool grip for traction in loose soils,
helping achieve forward impact on each
blow. This provides for maximum tool power,
strong forward thrust, and reduced tool
swimming for more accurate bores.
The Hole Hammer piercing tool line is
backed by top quality support and service
from the Vermeer global dealer network.

Vac-Tron
Featuring reduced operating noise levels,
an all-hydraulic rear door, and an overall
operator experience that is safer and more
user-friendly, Vac-Tron has rolled out its new
Low Profile 33 Series.
The rear door features hydraulics that
eliminate the need for external manual
safety locks. It opens fully so the operator
can completely empty the contents and
clean out easier. For operator safety, the door
is controlled by push buttons located on the
side of the unit.
“The quieter operation of the LP 33 is
notable,” said Vac-Tron Vice President of Sales
Brian Showley. “We occasionally hear of
contractors getting shut down prema-
turely at jobsites due to noise in densely
populated areas. This adds to project delays
and overall costs simply because their equip-
ment was too noisy. The LP 33 Series solves
that challenge.”
Similar to previous generations of the
LP Series, the 33 Series has all the power to
remove a variety of wet and dry materials.
Applications include storm drain clean-out,
underground utility locating, treatment plant
clean-up, retention pond clean-out, lateral
line clean-out, excavation of small rocks and
dry sand, mud removal, manhole clean-out,
water meter box clean-out, water valve
clean-out, car wash clean-up, emergency
road spills, and grain silo clean-out.
Other available features include quick con-
nect camlock fittings, two sections of 12.5-
foot suction hoses, underwater tank hose
and wand storage, horizontal wand storage,
and spring-loaded locking handles.
Available with the optional hydraulic
boom and/or air compressor, the LP is avail-
able either trailer-mounted or truck-mount-
ed for mobility on the jobsite. Other standard
features include a reverse pressure system, .5
micron filtration and a heavy duty trailer with
torsion axels.
