commodate semi-con diameters of 0.7 to 2.3
inches. The WS 76 spiral action also accu-
rately removes the bonded semi-con shield
within .98 inches in forward position and
within .27 inches in reverse position. Easy
blade replacement, an additional winding
pin, and no need for messy cable lubricant
make this tool ideal for utility professionals to
do their job more effectively and efficiently.
The WS 76 is made in the United States of
a strong, high-quality steel and aluminum
construction. Utility tools from Ripley are
designed and manufactured for installers
and contractors in the power, transmission,
and distribution industries and are a leading
brand for wire and cable preparation.
Ripley has been designing, manufactur-
ing, and assembling quality cable prepara-
tion tools for the professional installer since
1936. It is a leading worldwide manufacturer
of wire and cable preparation tools for the
CATV, fiber optic, electrical, home integra-
tion, telecom, and utility markets.
Pelsue
When working in aerial lifts, safety is a major
concern as contractors strive to keep lift
operators safe and in compliance. Regula-
tions require all aerial lift and work platform
operators to use fall protection. With mul-
tiple operations during the day, lift operators
may forget to re-attach their safety harness
lanyard to the boom anchorage.
Pelsue’s Universal Vert-Alert is an integrat-
ed warning system that alerts
operators of aerial lifts to
attach their safety
harness lanyard
before elevat-
ing the
lift. If
the safety harness is not attached to the
provided anchorage, a high-decibel verbal
message alerts the operator to attach the
safety harness.
Additionally, if the lift operator discon-
nects the fall protection lanyard, the Uni-
versal Vert-Alert announces with the same
warning message. An optional feature will
interrupt the UP control and prevent the lift
from being elevated until the safety harness
lanyard is attached.
It is not always noticeable to those on the
ground that a lift is descending. Universal
Vert-Alert sounds a high-decibel verbal
warning message whenever the DOWN
control is activated. (A 3-second delay allows
repositioning without alarm activation.)
The Universal Vert-Alert system has a data-
logger that records the number of times the
lanyard attachment alarm was activated. It
also records the date and time of connections
and disconnects of the lanyard as well as the
number of up and down motions. Data can
be downloaded from a USB port to a PC.
The system is easily installed on new and
existing equipment by competent installers.

Millennium
Millennium has once again stepped outside
of the box and introduced the Millennium
Magic Mile app for mobile devices, which
allows users to quickly estimate aerial hard-
ware in the field. The app runs on iPhones,
iPads, and Android devices.
Every second on the job means time and
money. With Millennium’s app, users save on
both with the touch of a finger. Just enter
the number of miles needed to build
and the size of the strand, and the
Millennium Magic Mile app
generates a list of aerial
hardware products as an estimate. Users can
even adjust the quantities per items needed
for the job if more or less of a specific item
is needed. Once the list is generated, press
the submit button to send a complete list to
email and request a quote. It’s that easy to
estimate aerial hardware projects, only from
Millennium.
J.J. Kane Auctioneers
Acquiring a new piece of construction
equipment so that a business can increase
productivity and efficiency can involve a
large expense. For many buyers, a used
heavy construction equipment auction pro-
vides them exactly what they need—good
used equipment and vehicles that they can
buy directly from the current owners. Let’s
review a few advantages the auction sale
venue can provide.
• Convenience - Owners often have a hard
time getting rid of heavy equipment and
machinery and often suffer depreciation
losses. Auctions are fast, simple ways to
connects buyers and sellers.
• Advertising Effectiveness - At a well run
auction, the items being offered have
been presented to many prospective buy-
ers through many different types of ad-
vertising media. Sellers want a maximum
number of bidders and use extensive
media marketing strategies to connect
with buyers who need what is being sold.
• Faster Disposition - Most owners who
send used machinery to an auction house
know the auctioneers will do a proper
job; buyers have been notified through
effective marketing techniques and are
informed of what will be offered for sale.
• Absolute Auction Value - In this kind of
setting, with no minimums or reserves,
buyers see the real possibility that they
can get a machine at great bargain. The
seller’s desire is to get the maximum
