exceptional power to the bit, enabling the

JT60 All Terrain to be more productive in a

wide range of ground formations.

Last but not least, both the JT60 and the

JT60 All Terrain will come factory-equipped

with the proven Ditch Witch GPS offering at

no additional charge. The Ditch Witch organi-

zation and U.S. Fleet Tracking are providing

the hardware, installation, and one year of

premium service as a special promotion for

JT60 customers. Users of the system can

remotely view engine hours, operational

hours, service reminders, machine location,

and various other performance criteria.

“Knowledge is power,” said Ditch Witch

GPS Product Manager Steve Seabolt. “Users

will gain valuable awareness into opera-

tor practices, idle time, and service needs.

Owners also typically receive a significant

discount off their insurance premiums. We’re

very excited about the JT60 and JT60 owners’

utilization of the GPS system.”

Caterpillar

Beginning in 2015, Caterpillar’s new

850,000-square-foot facility in Athens, Ga.,

will produce all Cat E2 Series Mini Hydraulic

Excavators. Additionally, the five compact

radius E2 Series machines—including

the 303.5E2, 304E2, 305E2, 305.5E2, and

308E2—will feature the new High Definition

Hydraulic (HDH) system, which provides a

load-sensing and flow-sharing capability for

operational precision, efficient performance,

and greater controllability.

Redesigned with a new operator station,

the 303.5E2, 304E2, 305E2, and 305.5E2

include a wider entry, suspension seat with

adjustable arm rests, 100 percent pilot con-

trols, and an ergonomic layout for increased

comfort. Additionally, a new interlocking

front window system allows the operator to

lock the bottom pane into the top pane and

raise the full window unit for secure storage

within the cab.

A number of standard features, such as

automatic two-speed, 200-degree bucket

rotation, and blade float, are built into every

Cat mini hydraulic excavator. The two-speed

feature adjusts automatically to balance

speed and torque requirements for improved

control, the 200-degree bucket rotation sim-

plifies vertical wall digging eliminating the

need for repositioning, and the blade float

function drags the blade backwards along

the contour of the ground with only the

weight of the blade for increased productiv-

ity. A unique bucket shape maximizes the

volume of material retention without sacrific-

ing digging performance, and the boom

and stick cylinders have built-in dampening

to cushion the impact of the rod and piston

against the stops.

All E2 Series models are equipped with the

Complete Operation, Maintenance, Perfor-

mance, and Security System (COMPASS) digital

control panel. COMPASS includes a password-

protected, anti-theft system; an automatic

engine-idle selection activated after 4 seconds

of inactivity; and an adjustable auxiliary-flow

control for work tool attachments.
