Altec Inc.

Altec Inc. has launched the AN67-E100 and

AN67E-E100 aerial devices to offer customers

increased safety and jobsite efficiency. These

new units will be added to the Global Rental

fleet this fall and are now available to order.

“We worked directly with customers

and took a hard look at all aspects of this

machine: the aerial device, the elevator, and

the overall layout and chassis interface,” said

Dustin Yost, Altec market manager. “Every

feature designed into this package directly

aligns with what linemen and fleet managers

thought most important: safety, productivity,

reliability, and operator convenience.”

The AN67-E100 and AN67E-E100 incorpo-

rate the field-proven design and reliability

of Altec’s AA/AN Series Aerial Devices into

a 100-foot total platform height elevator

for transmission applications. A high-flow

hydraulic system and new independent

controller for the elevator provide speed and

multi-function capability. Standard platform

rotator, available extended side reach, and

material handling jib offer more options to

position the platform and get tools and ma-

terials to height. By reducing time required

for setup and positioning, a crew’s productiv-

ity is greatly improved.

The new elevator design features high-

tensile steel and a modern box-boom

design for improved strength-to-weight

ratio. “Depending on configuration, our new

double elevator allows up to 3,900 pounds

of total payload on a 58,000 pound GVWR

all-wheel drive chassis. Optimizing payload

allows crews to carry more materials, tools,

and accessories on the truck, which is key to

the overall efficiency of the job,”Yost said.

A service-driven design offers new fea-

tures, including additional larger access holes

and covers, accessible grease points and

hydraulic hoses, redesigned pins and fasten-

ers, hydraulic hose bulkheads, and hydraulic

diagnostic ports. These features simplify

preventative maintenance and allow more

efficient troubleshooting and repairs, reduc-

ing both downtime and operating costs.

Vac-Tron Equipment

Vac-Tron Equipment, an industry innova-

tion leader in industrial vacuums, potholing,

daylighting, hydro excavation, air excavation,

and environmental clean-up equipment, has

introduced the new LP 533/833 XDT.

Powered by a 24-horsepower Kohler diesel

engine, this unit has similar performance

specs as the pre-Tier 4 final DT model. It is

Tier 4 compliant and comparatively priced

with the pre-Tier 4 models. For the last

several months, Vac-Tron negotiated with

engine suppliers to receive the very best

discounts possible, and the company is

confident that this current Tier 4 final pricing

is very competitive with the market.

This machine features the new Series 33

Safety Rear Door. The hydraulic screw rear

door offers a high-torque motor with a self-

adjusting threaded shaft designed for low

maintenance and easy operation. It opens to

a full 90-degree angle and is equipped with

a safety lock that engages automatically.

It features CVS filtration housing. The LP

ground level filtration housing also incorpo-

rates a 28-inch-diameter cyclone, four-way

valve for reverse pressure, and a large

silencer for quiet performance. Patent pend-

ing. It has an optional strong arm to help

support the weight of the vacuum hose.

It has a 6-inch debris discharge valve for

quickly off-loading liquid materials by gravity

or under pressure to another container.

The new unit has an easy-access engine

compartment for service and regular mainte-

nance of all components.

American Polywater Corporation

American Polywater Corporation’s Splice

Shield sealant leaves a thick flexible coating

that creates an environmental barrier against

oil, water, and corrosion. Splice Shield can

be used on medium-voltage cable as long

as the shield has not been damaged. It has a

high dielectric strength. The kit contains all

the materials needed to seal multiple under-

ground splices or repairs cable jackets that

were nicked or cut due to shovel damage.

Polywater Splice Shield sealant is pack-

aged in an easy-to-use self-dispensing

cartridge. Only one application is needed

for a thick protective coating over “taped”

splices, “clam shell” splices, or for use under

heat shrink tubing to ensure that water won’t

penetrate the cable.

Polywater Splice Shield dries quickly and

does not need to be “tack free” before direct

burial.

American Polywater also offers the new

Polywater UPR Pole Repair, which simplifies
