the PCCA crew to Naples
and the 2013 Convention
during this charming

Annual Prayer Breakfast
8 - 9:30 am
The Prayer Breakfast is a longtime PCCA tradition that
unites members and their families in scripture, music, and
fellowship. Hosted by Herb and Chris Fluharty, this year’s
breakfast features Grammy Award-winning record producer
Ken Mansfield who shares the story of his relationship with
God following success in the music business and then a fall
into despair and “brokenness.”
Mansfield has experienced a life that most people have only
read about. He was a top executive and producer in Hollywood
and Nashville when the music industry was young and
vibrant, back when creativity and passion made the music.
At Capitol Records, he worked with Stan Kenton, Peggy Lee,
Judy Garland, Lou Rawls, Glen Campbell, Buck Owens, Merle
Haggard, and many others. But then the tempo really picked
up when he began working with bands like the Beach Boys,
the Beatles, and the Band.
A simple young man from the Indian reservation lands
in Northern Idaho, Ken found himself propelled into the
center of a rock-and-roll whirlwind when the Beatles asked
him to be the U.S. manager of their Apple Record label and
their personal liaison between the UK and the U.S. When the
Beatles breakup seemed inevitable, he became a vice president
at MGM Records and then president of a CBS label owned by
Andy Williams. He then set up his own company, Hometown
Productions Inc.,
where he began
producing artists
such as Waylon
Jennings, Jessi Colter,
Don Ho, David
Cassidy, and the
Flying Burrito Bros.
He says his
downfall was
inevitable, but the eventual result was incredible—from the
ashes came the beauty and joy of the Risen Lord and in time
he was commissioned to produce the renowned Imperials
and eventually earned a Grammy and a Dove Award when
he produced the Gaither Vocal Band’s classic “Homecoming”
album.
The refining period between the heady secular successes
and the gospel gold was not one that Ken would have chosen.
“Every day I thank God for loving me so much that He allowed
all my worldly possessions to go away and in exchange gave
me the one true gift of value—eternal life through His Son and
my Savior Jesus Christ.”
Utility Construction Industry Overview
9:45 - 11:45 am
Chris Daum, a principal in FMI’s investment-banking practice
who focuses largely on the utility construction sector, reports
on activity in PCCA members’ primary markets and discusses
what he sees coming down the pipeline.
Silent Auction and Reception
6 - 7 pm
Not as raucous as the Live Auction to follow, the Silent Auction
and Reception are filled with cocktails, hors d’ouevres, good
times with friends, and some low-key bidding for about 50
minutes. Then, as the deadline nears, things tend to get a little
crazy and it’s everyone for themselves!
Auction & Dinner
7 - 10 pm
Every year, the PCCA Auction is where association members
revel like it’s New Year’s Eve and bid on a variety of fabulous
trips, tickets, tools, equipment, jewelry, and much, much
more. All proceeds go directly to building programs and
services for PCCA members, so everyone is encouraged to bid
early and often and to have a great time.

Annual Associates Exhibit & Breakfast
7:30 - 11 am
PCCA’s manufacturer and supplier members host the 12th
Annual Associates Exhibit & Breakfast. Contractor members
have been particularly pleased with our exhibit format, which
allows them to peruse the displays, meet with vendors, discuss
jobsite issues, and learn about the industry’s latest products
and services in a very relaxed atmosphere.
Exhibit Wrap-up & Associates Meeting
11:30 am - 12 pm
PCCA’s associate members hold a roundtable discussion on
topics that affect manufacturers and suppliers in our industry.
We will also review the just-completed Associates Exhibit
and other convention activities and discuss ways they can be
improved to further benefit everyone involved.
