Charleston Carriage Tour
Depart Charleston Place for a wonder-
ful private tour of Charleston’s Historic
District in a horse-drawn carriage. You will
see a number of the Port City’s major land-
marks: the Battery, White Point Gardens,
Rainbow Row, and Charleston’s oldest
church, St. Michael’s (circa 1752). During
the carriage ride, your guide will regale
you with Charleston folklore and insider’s
stories about this fascinating city and its
history.
$35 includes guide, taxes, and gratuities.
1 - 4:30 pm
Patriots Point Military Tour
Board an executive coach, travel across the
Cooper River Bridge, take in the expansive
views of the South Carolina shoreline, and
embark on a wonderful journey where
you’ll survey the ships of Patriots Point,
the magnificent aircraft, a reproduced
Vietnam support base camp, and the rest
of the exhibits that make the Patriots Point
Naval and Maritime Museum one of the
most visited attractions in the Carolinas.
The centerpiece of Patriots Point is the
world-famous aircraft carrier USS York-
town, a heavily decorated warship that
was at the “tip of the spear” in America’s
victory in the Pacific during World War II.
You will walk in and around the mystique
of the Destroyer Laffey, DD-459 Submarine
Clamagore, Coast Guard Cutter Ingham,
and a River Patrol Boat used in South
Vietnam.
The Congressional Medal of Honor Mu-
seum, located on board the USS Yorktown,
features interactive exhibits that explain
the origin of the award and what it stands
for. These exhibits tell the stories of brave
Americans who displayed remarkable cour-
age, such as Audie Murphy, Sergeant Alvin
York, and Jimmy Doolittle. Even now, the
Medal of Honor continues to touch the
lives of Americans as the museum pays
special tribute to the first recipients from
the War On Terror, exceptional Americans
who made the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq
and Afghanistan.
Wear casual clothing, hat, sunscreen,
and comfortable walking shoes.
$75 includes transportation, guides, admis-
sions fees, taxes, and gratuities.
6 - 9 pm A Celebration in the Riviera Theater
Party like it’s 1939! PCCA rolls out the red
carpet at the Riviera Theater, an exquisite
example of romantic Art Deco style. Cur-
rently on the National Registry of Historic
Places, the Riviera is from an elegant
period in Charleston’s rich heritage. Built
Circa 1939, the Riviera opened to great
fanfare and applause and has always benn
a place of significant gatherings and events
for the city gentry and aristocracy. Today,
this stunning landmark has been meticu-
lously restored and preserved, includ-
ing the original exterior, marquee, ticket
booth, etched glasswork, elaborate interior
murals, and stone mosaic entry. Thus, the
Riviera has been transformed into one of
the most unique and ingenious event facili-
ties in America!
The celebration features the Andrew
Thielen Big Band, who has been called
“the southeastern Michael Buble Band
PLUS,” “Big Band music brought into a
new millennium,” and “the best wedding
reception band on the planet.” From swing
to rock to disco tunes, Motown classics,
and a little hip hop too, the band plays and
sings your favorite style of music, all the
songs you love to hum.
The evening will be capped off with a
special celebration of the 2015 PCCA Hall
of Fame inductees.
