“The addition of SMS Equipment to our dealer network
demonstrates our intent to build market share in Canada,
providing more customers with greater access to our RT9
crawler carriers and the unmatched product service and
support that comes with the Terramac brand,” said Terramac
CEO Mike Crimaldi. “With their product knowledge and
experience, SMS Equipment can provide superlative support
to our customers.”
The rubber tracks and low ground pressure (5.1 psi when
fully loaded) allow the multi-purpose Terramac RT9 crawler
carrier to cover a variety of ground and adverse weather con-
ditions. The machine has been customized to fit more than
15 different industry specific applications to tackle a variety
of jobs, including suppressing tailings dust on mines, holding
welding equipment for oil and gas pipelines, and laying dirt
in environmentally sensitive areas for general construction.
Made in North America, the RT9 can be ordered from the
factory with the correct body configuration to accept custom
accessories. Additional options for the RT9 include a back-up
camera, bed lights, radio, flat bed, dump bed, track cleats,
and an engine filter kit.
With an operating weight of 26,000 pounds and a maxi-
mum carrying capacity of 18,000 pounds, the RT9 is the
largest mid-sized rubber track carrier that does not re-
quire special oversize permitting to transport the machine.
Equipped with a 230-horsepower Cummins diesel engine in
both open- and closed-cab options, the RT9 has rollover pro-
tective structure as well as falling object protective structure
components.
Ditch Witch Introduces
Cost-E#cient Mud Recycler
D
itch Witch recently announced the release of the
MR90 mud recycler, designed to enhance cost-effi-
ciency. The Ditch Witch MR90 is a self-contained
unit that can mix and recycle drilling fluid, or “mud,” as well
as handle spoils. By reclaiming, recycling, and reusing drill-
ing mud, drill operators can save on disposal and transport
costs. The MR90 saves operators even more time and money
because it can be transported full of fluid.
The 25-horsepower MR90 is equipped with a hydraulic pit
pump that provides more than enough mud for recycling.
Pump hydraulics can be controlled by an optional remote
control, which can simplify operation for smaller directional
drill crews. The MR90 also boasts an automatic pit pump
control that is designed to prevent overflow.
The MR90 is equipped with a 110-gallon clean tank and
a 340-gallon first-pass mud tank. Each tank has a 3-inch
connection at the drain for vacuuming out mud to minimize
jobsite cleanup. The MR90 also includes a 300-gallon fresh
water tank to provide extra drilling fluid capacity and support
for equipment cleanup, along with a high-pressure wash
pump.
The MR90 offers fast setup and can be operated from a sin-
gle point, eliminating the need to move the unit. The MR90’s
mud-filtering system is a two-screen system with six 2.5-inch
hydrocyclones that cleans mud for reuse. The screens are
easy to change and service and can be hydraulically adjusted
to separate spoils.
