Earth Pro 4550X Geothermal Drill
T
he Astec EarthPro Geothermal 4550X is designed
to meet the specialized demands of geothermal
system installations. Its superior field mobility,
power, and state-of-the-art technology make it
ideally suited to high-production drilling applications.
Astec Underground engineers conducted extensive field
studies with goethermal system installers and incorporated
suggestions by veteran drillers into the design of the EarthPro
Geothermal 4550X. It uses technology that has made Astec
Underground an innovative leader in the horizontal direc-
tional drilling industry.
The unit features a CAT C15 Acert turbo diesel engine with
580 horsepower at 2,100 rpm. It has a 200-gallon fuel tank
capacity, a 100-gallon hydraulic capacity, and the drive sys-
tem has two hydrostatic pumps, one load-sensing pump, and
one high-pressure compensated pump.
Aevenia Opens Satellite
Office in North Dakota
A
evenia Inc., a leader in energy and electrical
construction, opened a new office in Bismarck,
N.Dak., to meet the growing response to its
diverse service offerings. The new office opened
on September 1. Aevenia selected the centralized location in
North Dakota to ensure continued client services and meeting
those requirements more efficiently.

Moorhead, Minn., with limited staff being located in the
Bismarck office to start.
“Providing greater value to our customers continues to
drive our business strategy,” Aevenia Executive Vice Presi-

most powerful bundle of services in our market and look
forward to our involvement in the Bismarck community.”

Pneumatic Saw It
with New Safety Features
R
eed recently announced the addition of two
new models to the Saw It line. SAWITSD and
SAWITD pneumatic saws feature immediate
shutdown when the throttle is released and im-
mediate start-up with throttle squeeze. On the SAWITSD ver-
sion only, a trigger lock prevents accidental “on” if the trigger
is bumped or pressed unintentionally.
Saw It is a great cutting tool for hard-to-reach places. With
blade variations, it cuts plastic (even C-900 PVC), steel, and
stainless steel with minimal 6-inch clearance beyond the pipe
to accommodate blade movement. The saw cuts up to 20-
inch diameter pipe with a single set-up and cuts larger diam-
eter pipe with optional chain extensions and several clamp-
ings. The Saw It Vise (sold separately) provides stability for
the cut. The easy-starting, smooth-running Saw It provides
pneumatic power and reciprocating motion to blades.
