Ripley Unveils
Semi-Con Scoring Tool
R
ipley recently announced the
introduction of the SCS Semi-
Con Scoring Tool, part of its
Utility Tool product line. This tool makes
it easier to remove non-bonded semi-con
from cable ranging in size from 0.31 to
1.77 inches. The SCS tool seamlessly
performs square cut, spiral cut, and
longitudinal cut, maximizing versatility.
With an easy-to-use dial adjustment,
precise blade adjustment, and a 2-inch
envelope on larger cables, the SCS tool
is ideal for utility professionals to safely,
efficiently, and ergonomically do their
job.
The SCS is made in the U.S. of a
robust steel and aluminum construction.

HammerHead
Unveils New Hammer
H
ammerHead Trenchless Equip-
ment unveiled the world’s
largest pneumatic pipe ram-
ming hammer at the recent Underground
Construction Technology International
Conference in Houston, Tex. The 34-inch
hammer can install casing 48 to 180
inches in diameter in drainage culvert
and washover applications and can be
used for pipe assist or pipe extraction,
guided pilot bore ramming, and horizon-
tal directional drilling assist.
The hammer was recently field-proven
in an Ontario, Canada, washover casing
job, where crews successfully installed
185 feet of 72-inch-diameter steel casing.

inch hammer enables HammerHead to
provide solutions to the most challeng-

never before available for installation of
large-diameter pipe.”
