Not one to sugarcoat his analysis, FMI’s Chris Daum delighted
the big crowd at his Utility Trends session with upbeat forecasts for
the power and telecom markets. He said that power is the biggest
growth area in utility construction and that while telecom business
is good now, it is going to be even better when the general
economy improves.

The Young Construction Professionals sessions run by FMI’s Andy
Patron always include audience participation and small group
exercises to drive home certain points. In San Antonio this year, YCP
participants discussed underlying trends that drive the construction
industry and how firms can anticipate and mitigate risks that are
critical to the future success of a company.
