Title: Avoiding Travel Scams

Hi again!

When it comes to avoiding travel scams, it's not always
as easy as you may think. They're ingenious, often very
calculating and designed in a way as to fool even the most
seasoned traveler.

That is, if you don't know what to look out for.

Here are a few of the most common ones to avoid:

1: ATM Scams
Be careful when taking money out of ATM machines in
foreign countries. Be aware of your surroundings but
pay extra attention to the keypads and devices. Double
check that they are securely attached to the ATM machine
and not a false plate devised to steal your pin code
and credit card details.

2: Cash
Pay attention when you pay for items with large bills.
Make sure you receive the correct change. Sometimes it
can get tricky, especially if you're in a foreign country
where you aren't quite aware of the conversion rates. This
is why it's always best to pay in local currency so you can
keep an eye on the money you get back from each purchase.

3: The Helpful Local
It's important that you allow yourself to enjoy the local
culture and quite often this involves moving away from the
beaten path of the usual tourist traps. However, be careful
when being solicited by locals. Even local servers will pull
people off the streets, directing you to their restaurants
where you'll find high prices and lots of hidden charges.

Always research venues and restaurants in advance, and when
you find yourself being approached by a local, be friendly
but cautious.

4: Too Good to Be True Offers
Keep an eye out for offers that seem too good to be true.
Chances are, it is! Scam artists come in all shapes and
sizes so don't be fooled by mistrusting the wrong person.

Keep your guard up and be smart.

I'll share a few tips that will help you save money, so don't
miss it.
