Title: Tracking Storytelling Success

Hello there,

Yesterday we discussed how to choose a media outlet that
works for your brand and will likely help you maximize outreach
and exposure.

In today's email, we'll take a look at how you can gauge the
effectiveness of your storytelling campaigns so that you can
tweak as needed.

But first things first – why should you track the success of your
storytelling campaigns!

It should be obvious, right?

You want to be able to see how people are responding to your
storylines. How they feel connected to your marketing campaigns
and how you can improve them so that they go the distance
and become share-worthy.

If you don't keep a pulse on how your campaigns are doing, you
won't be able to make improvements or allow your storyline to
grow and evolve.

And that's important!

Even thought you should have created a foundation and a timeline
for your storytelling campaign, you also have to be flexible and
allow it to change as your audience does.

You want to do all that you can to create campaigns that resonate
with your core market and sometimes you might discover that your
story takes a new turn and goes off in a different direction than
you anticipated.

That's great! It means that you simply have to adapt to what is
working within your market.

Here are a few metrics to keep in mind when gauging the effectiveness
of your storyline:

1.Brand awareness: How familiar is your target audience with your
products or brand? Are you seeing growth? Are you discovering
new customers?

2.Lead generation: How many new sales leads have your campaigns
brought to your business?

3.Conversation rate: What percentage of new leads resulted in
actual purchases of your products or services? Keep in mind
that sales aren't the only factor! Building a list, generating
leads and putting you in touch with your audience are equally
as important as sales.

4.Increase in sales: How have your sales grown over time? Are
you finding your campaigns have become stagnant? If so, it's an
indication that you need to revise your storyline or offer your
audience with something new.

5.Return on investment: How much revenue has your business generated for every
dollar you spent on marketing? You'll want to keep an eye on this and stay
within your budget!

6.Customer acquisition cost: How much does it cost your business to acquire a
single customer?

7.Market share: What percentage of buyers in the market purchase from your
business compared to your competition?

Keeping track of metrics is an important part of effectively marketing while
staying within budget so you can be sure that you are spending money to
grow your business, rather than on campaigns that just aren't shaping up.
