Title: Mobile Shopping Essentials

Hey there,

Yesterday, I gave you a few tips on how to create
a positive mobile shopping experience for your
customers. Today, we'll touch down on a few
essentials for a successful ecommerce website.

First, you'll want to make sure that you
optimize all of the product graphics and images
on your website. You want to make sure that
graphics load quickly, and that you use only
high-resolution images that are resized so they
appear properly on all mobile devices.

For most mobile websites, you'll want to keep
images from a range of 240x320 right up to
2560 x 1440.

Another thing to keep in mind that is it's
important to eliminate any flash based players
and pop ups. Since mobile devices like iPhones
and Android smartphones don't support Flash,
it won't display that content on their devices.

As for pop-up forms, they tend to take away from
a shopper's experience and can be bothersome when
trying to close down a series of windows in order
to resume shopping.

Testing your mobile sales pages is a very important
part of the process. You want to make sure that every
page appears correctly on a variety of mobile devices,
not just the common ones. Review your websites using
tablets as well as smartphones whenever possible.

When testing out your website, keep in mind that most
mobile users scroll using their thumbs. This means
that you don't want to place any important buttons
or information in the top sections of your webpages.

Feature all information information, including any
navigation buttons, in the middle of the screen so that
it's easy for people to see and use.

You also want to make sure that buttons and other
navigational content is large enough so that the
average person can easily access it without having
to zoom in.

In tomorrow's email, I'll discuss how you can easily
implement smart search into your mobile website in order
to improve user experience and increase conversion rates!

Until then,
