Title: 5 Dating Mistakes to Avoid

Hey there,

Successful dates take work. They also take time
and commitment. So it's easy to see why so many
men fall victim to these common mistakes. They
want to rush things along, see whether there's
a real connection without putting the time and
effort into it.

But trying to fast-forward things isn't the only
common mistake we all make. Here are a few that
you'll want to watch out for:

1: Failing to Appear Interested
Sometimes guys can come off as oblivious or simply
uninterested, even when they’re really trying to be
attentive. It's something many of us have to watch
out for because it's easy to put out signals that
we're not that into her, even when we are.

So, pay attention to both your physical and verbal
signals. Make eye contact, nod when you agree with
what she's saying, lean in closer to show you're
thoroughly engaged.

Don't let your nerves get in the way. I know, easier
said than done but sometimes the general awkwardness
of dating can give off the vibe that you aren't
attracted to her when in reality it's the fact you
ARE attracted that's causing you to have the jitters.

So try to keep as calm, cool and collected as possible.

2: Don't Play Hard to Get
No one likes head games and any woman worth having isn't
going to give you the time of day if you act as though
you aren't that into her. Coming off as nonchalant will
only hurt your chances of finding a meaningful connection
so leave the games at home in the Rec room where they belong.

3: Leave your Phone Behind
I know, your phone is probably your lifeline or security
especially if you need to be available for personal calls
from kids or family but if at all possible, leave your
phone behind. Even if that means tucked securely away in
the glovebox of your car. She'll appreciate the fact you
are doing everything possible to give her your full attention.

4: Avoid the 3 Topic No-No's
When you're just getting to know someone, you want to
avoid as many touchy subjects as possible. This includes
religion, politics and sex (and in some cases, money).

Stick to safe topics that won't leave either of you
uncomfortable or defending your position.

And finally,

5: Making a big deal about who pays the bill!

This is a common one and you really want to avoid it
because not only could it come across as arrogant but
it can just make things really awkward and uncomfortable.

If she insists on going Dutch, let it happen. At the
same time if she expects you to pay, do it. Don't
get off on the wrong foot by arguing over something
that really shouldn't matter.

That's it for today. In tomorrow's email, I'll share
a few dating tips for those of you who are starting
out online.

Until then,
