Title: Pitching Yourself (and succeeding)

Hey there!

If you want to network, you need to learn how to
sell yourself. This isn’t always as easy as it sounds
because a lot of people struggle wth how to highlight
their strengths without coming across as pushy or too
aggressive.

But confidence sells. And being able to pitch yourself
in a way that resonates with your fellow influencers is
part of the process.

To begin, you want to know who you’re talking to. Get to
know the influencer’s brand as well as their overall style.

How do they engage their audience? What kind of content do
they offer? What channels of communication do they use?

Then, figure out how to highlight the benefits of your own
brand so that it aligns with theirs. You want them to see the
value in networking with you.

Next, create a compelling and clear offer that outlines what
you’re hoping to achieve as well as how you believe a partnership
would help boost both brands.

If you have the metrics, offer those as well including traffic,
demographics and other relevant data that will help a possible
partner better understand your business.

Then, begin reaching out to influencers that you’ve identified
as being in line with your values. Your message should always
include all of the following:

Start with an introduction. Let them know who you are and what
you stand for, as well as what experience you have.

Hopefully, you’ve done some footwork in getting yourself on their
radar, even if it means having followed them on social media, engaged
with their posts or responded to their content. If not, you should
consider doing that before reaching out.

Let them know you understand where they’re coming from. Talk about
their brand and explain why you chose them.

Then, discuss the campaign or offer that you are hoping to create
with them. Describe your primary goal and then provide details
as to how you believe you’ll achieve it.

Highlight the greatest benefits to working with you. Don’t be
afraid to show off your goods!

Finally, close by offering them an open channel of communication,
being flexible with when and how you’re available. Provide email,
cell phone, or Skype, to name a few.

Remember, you need to let them know what’s in it for them so always
focus on highlighting the benefits and how they’ll be compensated
for working with you.

That’s it for this series of emails, but stay tuned for additional
emails from me throughout the coming weeks.

I wish you the very best!
