Title: Defining Your Marketing Strategy

Hey there,

Before you seek out influencers who can help you
boost awareness of your offer, you’ll want to
define your marketing strategy.

What does this mean, exactly?

In order to secure a deal with the right influencer
who will help you achieve your goals, you first need
to figure out what those are.

For example, if you’re a game or app developer, you
would want an influencer who can help you get views
or downloads of your game, so you’d want to incentivize
accordingly.

Or, if you’re a software developer, you’d likely be
focused on increasing downloads which would mean you’d
set up tracking in order to monitor the effectiveness
of your campaign.

What your goals are will also determine the type of
influencer agreement that would work best for you.

When it comes to influencer marketing there are a few
different ways to set up a joint venture that benefits
both parties, including:

Equal Partnerships
This is where you create a partnership between your brand
and an influencer. Rather than monetary compensation,
you would share exposure, boost each other’s following
and advertise each other for a set period of time.

You’ve likely seen this type of partnership with
YouTubers who agree to go on each other’s channel in
order to unite brands and maximize exposure.

Paid partnerships can also include giving access to
free products or services to your influencer’s market
in order to let them evaluate your quality and get to
know your brand before committing to purchasing.

Paid Partnerships
This type of agreement typically involves you paying an
influencer to market your brand without any reciprocation
on your end.

For example, you may hire an influencer to complete a
number of tasks that involve emailing their newsletters,
posting on social media or creating content for your website
or blog that drives in traffic and puts you in touch with your
target audience.

Regardless what you decide to do, it all begins with defining
what is most important to you, and what your ultimate goals are.

If you’re looking for someone to help you boost awareness and
engagement without having to do any co-branding or collective
advertising, a paid partnership would likely be what you’re
looking for.

So start by defining your marketing strategy so you know
exactly what you hope to achieve.

In tomorrow’s email, I’ll talk to you about the different
types of sponsorships being offered so you know everything
you need to before seeking these out.

Until then,
