Installed Wind Power Capacity
in North America to Double by 2017
W
hile the financial crisis of 2008-
2009 and the recession had a strong
impact on the wind energy industry
in terms of new installations, the
sector has continued to mature.
The North American wind energy industry lags in key areas
compared to Europe and Asia, but many key industry players
are optimistic about the North American market as turbine
costs continue to drop dramatically. According to a new
report from Pike Research, total installed wind capacity in

network would not impact high-
precision GPS systems. The company
should not be allowed to proceed
until it can be shown that its network
would not disrupt precision GPS
capabilities or until it presents a viable
solution to interference problems.
Any cost for further testing, adjust-
ments in signal, filters, or other recom-
mendations by LightSquared should
be paid for by LightSquared and not
the providers or users of the current
GPS systems.

about the proposal from LightSquared.
